Our friendly staff is fully trained and experienced in a full range of procedures, from general eye exams to glaucoma treatment. We gladly accept walk-in patients with eye injuries and other urgent conditions, such as sudden blurred vision, loss of vision, diplopia (double vision), eye pain, and red eye. In addition, we always try to accommodate those who have broken their glasses or lost their contact lenses as soon as our schedule can possibly permit.

Our multi-specialty staff is highly trained and eminently qualified, beginning with our founder, Dr. Clark Cobble. For more than 25 years, Dr. Cobble has devoted his career to surpassing the expectations of his patients, providing exceptional eye care with precision and a delicate touch. Following his example, our professional and courteous team is dedicated to making your eye care experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
Gary A. Rankin, M.D., P.A.
Dr. Cobble and Danville Eye Center are particularly proud to offer the services of esteemed retinal specialist, Gary A. Rankin. A graduate of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Dr. Rankin is a board certified ophthalmologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Following his residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, he joined the Joslin Diabetes Center in 1990. Two years later, he completed his retinal fellowship at Herman Eye Center. He has since established himself as one of the most respected doctors in his field, and his services are in high demand throughout southern Virginia.
