Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1978, Dr. Cobble had years of education and training before opening Danville Eye Center in Danville, Virginia. He began his education at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, graduating in 1970. Following that, he served in the United States Army at Fort Riley, Kansas, from 1971 to 1973. He then continued his education, completing his residency in Ophthalmology at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis in 1976. He later received specialized training in retinal disease and surgery as a fellow at the Vitreo-Retinal Foundation in Memphis, Tennessee. Currently, he is licensed to practice as an ophthalmologist in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Indiana.
Since 1978, Dr. Cobble has practiced general ophthalmology, providing complete eye care to his ever-expanding patient base. From routine eye examinations and the fitting of contact lenses to the treatment of ocular diseases and LASIK evaluations, he approaches every service and procedure he offers with the same devotion to excellence and customer satisfaction.
